Industrial connectors reliably connect power and signal circuits in machinery and plant under extreme conditions. The robust aluminium or plastic housings protect the contacts from dust, moisture and mechanical stress in accordance with protection class IP65 or IP67.
Product ranges and technical specifications
Heavy-duty connectors use modular inserts that combine different types of contacts within a single housing:
Performance contacts: 16A to 216A at 690V AC, screw terminals or crimp terminals
Signal contacts: 24 to 108-pin, solder connection or cut-to-fit terminal
Data contacts: RJ45, USB and D-Sub integrated into the module frame
Pneumatics/Hydraulics: Gland seals for compressed air and fluids
Enclosure sizes range from compact 3A versions (44.5 x 27 mm) to 24B enclosures (104.5 x 177 mm) for complex machine interfaces. Locking systems featuring a single-hand lever, double lever or screw lock secure the connection. Mounting enclosures allow for protected installation directly on the machine, whilst grommet enclosures provide flexible cable exits.
Typical areas of application
In machine tools and machining centres, connectors transmit motor currents, encoder signals and fieldbus data between the control cabinet and the moving parts of the machine. In robotic systems, they enable rapid tool changes through standardised interfaces for power, signals and pneumatics. In stage technology, multi-pin systems connect spotlight trusses and control units, whilst in presses they safely conduct the high currents from the hydraulic power units.
