The Binder protective cap 08 0349 000 001 provides IP67 protection for unplugged cable connectors from the 702 and 712 series. It prevents dust and water from entering the connector housing during storage, transport or when connections are temporarily not in use.
The protective cap is fitted onto the cable connector and completely covers the contact area. The IP67 protection rating ensures effective protection against dust (dust-tight) and temporary submersion. This prevents corrosion of the contacts, contamination and mechanical damage to the sensitive contact pins or sockets.
The protective cap is particularly important for outdoor applications, in dusty industrial environments, when pre-assembled cables are stored for long periods, or in systems with changing configurations. The cap can be fitted and removed without tools and is reusable.
