Selector switches enable the safe and unambiguous selection between different operating modes or functions. These robust switches, with a 22.5 mm mounting cut-out, are ideally suited to industrial control applications.
Technical details
The selector switches are available in 2- and 3-position versions, either with a locking mechanism or self-resetting. With a standardised mounting cut-out of 22.5 mm, they fit into standard front panels and control consoles. Depending on requirements, 1 to 4 switching elements can be combined. The actuators range from flat and short knobs to mushroom-head knobs for specialised applications. The protection ratings vary from IP40 for protected indoor environments to IP67 for harsh environmental conditions. All switches comply with the IEC 60947-5-1 standard and meet REACH and RoHS requirements. In the range: RAFI.
Applications
The main application of selector switches is the selection of operating modes, such as the traditional manual/0/automatic switching on machines and plant. In control engineering, they are used for selecting speed stages in speed control systems or for programme selection in programmable logic controllers. In mechanical engineering, the switches are used in control panels to select various machine functions or work cycles. Their robust design, with a protection rating of up to IP67, allows them to be used even in environments with high levels of dust or splashing water.
