Subminiature connectors with snap-in locking mechanisms allow for tool-free installation in front panels and enclosures. Their compact design, combined with ease of installation, makes these connection systems the preferred solution for space-critical applications in dry indoor environments.

Technical details

The snap-in mechanism of these subminiature connectors allows for assembly without the need for special tools – an audible click indicates that the connector is correctly locked in place. With an IP40 protection rating in accordance with IEC 60529, the connectors offer protection against solid foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and are designed for use in protected, dry environments. The design complies with IEC 61076-2, thereby ensuring compatibility with standardised mating connectors. Thanks to their shallow installation depth, these connectors are particularly suitable for applications with limited installation space behind the front panel.

Applications

In laboratory instrumentation, IP40 snap-in connectors are frequently used for signal connections on analysers and test benches. In portable measuring instruments, tool-free assembly enables efficient mass production. In control cabinets, they serve as a space-saving interface for control and display elements. Their subminiature design makes them the first choice for compact handheld control units and portable measurement equipment, where every millimetre of installation space counts.
