M12 binder connectors with T-coding are specifically designed for power applications with increased voltage requirements of up to 630 V DC at a current rating of 12 A. The 5-pin version with an integrated protective conductor meets safety-critical earthing requirements in industrial power distribution.
The T-coding in accordance with IEC 61076-2-101 identifies this M12 variant as a dedicated power solution with increased dielectric strength. With an IP67 protection rating in accordance with IEC 60529, the binder connectors are completely dust- and watertight, even when temporarily submerged. The five poles comprise four power contacts plus a mandatory PE connection. The robust design ensures reliable connections at rated currents of up to 12 A and voltages of up to 630 V DC – significantly higher than the values for other M12 coding variants.
The main areas of application are servo drive systems and frequency converters, which require a PE connection that complies with standards. In drive technology, M12-T connectors enable compact motor connections whilst ensuring high power transmission. Integrated protective earthing is indispensable, particularly in safety-critical areas such as packaging technology or machine tools. The binder connectors are also suitable for decentralised power distribution in modular automation systems where higher DC voltages are required in a compact design.
