M16 connectors with screw locking provide a reliable connection solution with an IP40 protection rating for applications in dry environments. The robust threaded locking mechanism ensures vibration-resistant contacts, even under mechanical stress in mechanical engineering.

Technical details

The M16 connectors comply with the IEC 61076-2 standard and are available with 2 to 12 pins. The M16x0.75 thread enables a secure mechanical lock and prevents the connection from coming loose accidentally. With an IP40 protection rating in accordance with IEC 60529, these connectors are suitable for use in protected areas without direct exposure to moisture. The range includes both cable connectors with various cable configurations and panel-mounted connectors for front-panel installation. The contacts are rated for currents up to 10 A for 2-pole connectors and are correspondingly reduced for higher pole counts.

Applications

In control engineering, M16 IP40 connectors are used for signal transmission between control cabinets and operator panels. Mechanical engineering firms use them for internal wiring in dry areas where there is no risk of splashing water or dust. Typical applications include air-conditioned production halls, test benches in laboratories or the internal wiring of control cabinets. The vibration-resistant screw connection makes them the first choice for stationary equipment subject to mechanical vibrations, such as in packaging technology or assembly lines.
