The HA-Nm-RG8 coaxial connector is an N-type male connector with an impedance of 50 ohms, designed for termination onto RG8 coaxial cable. RG8 is a commonly used coaxial cable with an outer diameter of approx. 10.3 mm and a solid dielectric, characterised by comparatively low attenuation in the lower RF range.
The N connector complies with the standardised interface as set out in IEC 60169-16. It is usually terminated by crimping and/or soldering. The connector is suitable for frequency ranges up to approximately 1–2 GHz, depending on the quality of the cable termination.
Typical areas of application include outdoor antenna systems, CB radio, VHF/UHF operations, amateur radio installations, as well as feed lines to base station antennas and general RF field installations.
