The MS700 absolute encoder from W+S Messsysteme is a multi-turn encoder with a synchronous flange and a mounting diameter of 70 mm, housed in a robust aluminium casing. The absolute technology provides the current position value immediately after power-up – without the need for a reference run. Position data recorded over several revolutions is stored in a power-fail-safe manner and is fully available once power is restored.

Supported shaft diameters range from 10 to 12 mm; axial or radial mounting is possible. The operating temperature ranges from -20 to +70 °C (optionally up to +100 °C). Supply voltage: 5 VDC or 8–30 VDC. Push-pull (HTL) and RS422 (TTL) are available as output options.

With its SSI, CANopen, CAN SAE J1939, RS485, Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT and BiSS-C interfaces, the MS700 covers the entire spectrum of modern industrial communication. Its IP65 protection rating provides reliable protection against dust and splashing water.

The preferred areas of application are servo drives, machine tools, conveyor and handling technology, and complex automation systems where larger housing dimensions and higher torque capacity are required.
