Precise encoder mounting requires the right mechanical accessories. From flexible couplings to protective housings, these components enable the secure and durable installation of encoders in a wide variety of machine environments. Mechanical components for encoder mountingFlexible couplings compensate for angular and axial misalignment between the encoder and the drive shaft. The flexible elements compensate for misalignment of up to several degrees and protect the sensitive encoder mechanism from vibrations. Typical designs utilise elastomeric spacers or metal bellows.Mounting brackets and clamping adaptors enable the fitting of encoders to various machine structures. Clamping adaptors adjust to different shaft diameters – an indispensable tool, particularly for retrofitting. The robust aluminium construction ensures a vibration-resistant mounting.Protective housings and cover caps protect the encoders against mechanical damage and environmental influences. IP65-rated housings extend the range of applications for standard encoders to include harsh industrial environments. Cover caps protect exposed shaft ends from contamination.Typical applications: In drive technology, flexible couplings enable encoders to be coupled directly to motor shafts – even when the shafts are not precisely aligned. Machine builders use variable mounting angles to position encoders flexibly in confined spaces. In retrofit projects, clamping adaptors solve the problem of differing shaft diameters between older machines and modern encoders. In the food industry, stainless steel housings protect the measurement technology from aggressive cleaning agents.
["GET
